LOMBOK: INDONESIA’S UNTAMED GEM, INDONESIA 2025

A land of raw beauty, where nature reigns and time slows down.

Just east of Bali lies Lombok, similar in size, yet worlds apart in feel. While Bali hums with cafes and crowds, Lombok remains raw, wild, and almost untouched.

Here, nature still writes the rules. Towering Mount Rinjani cuts the skyline, waterfalls tumble through dense jungle, and white sand beaches stretch without a single footprint. Villages stay traditional, and the pace of life is slow, shaped by the rhythm of the land.

Lombok is not just a destination, it’s a reminder of what unspoiled beauty looks like. Through my lens, I wanted to capture its honest soul: rugged, serene, and utterly real.

As I wandered across the island, I encountered the Sasak people, Lombok’s native tribe, who still live simply, guided by ancestral customs and strong community values. Their villages, built from woven bamboo, earth, and thatched roofs, sit quietly among rice fields, where generations tend to the land with patience and care.

Endless rice terraces climb the hillsides like green waves, glowing at sunrise and reflecting the sky at dusk. In these moments, Lombok feels timeless, suspended in a softer era.

Along the coast, one of nature’s rarest wonders awaits: Pink Beach, where the sand blushes under your feet from crushed coral mixed with white grains. It’s remote, quiet, and surreal, another piece of proof that this island is still mostly ruled by the elements.

Lombok invites you not just to see it, but to feel it, to slow down, breathe deeper, and remember a world where nature is still in charge.
